….so after some procrastination here it is — our long-awaited Soap Dish. I have to admit it is a necessary companion to a solid soap bar – keeping one’s soap dry is an important to its longevity.
Ours is Ceramic and made by our local potter (of course) and comes in a choice of three glazes – white, green or blue. We’ve used our potters existing glazes here and we love them. No two are exactly the same so these photos are an indication, yours may be slightly different.
If you really want to you can message me and I’ll lay out a selection of dishes for you and send you a pic and you can select your actual dish. A starnge offering but it’s the kind of thing I would want to do, so there it is I’m offering……

The design process…..
Things are never straight forward are they……having trialled a few of soap dishes we arrived at a very specific design for our soap bars – thrown into a dish shape and then simply with its sides zhuzhed together just so – making it easier than a round dish to sit on the side of the bath, sink or whatever. Also our dish has a ‘foot’ underneath it so the three holes needed to drain the soap have a space to drain properly and therefore the holes don’t get clogged up. And of course there is then a small gap in the wall of the foot to allow the water to drain away so it’s not trapped under the dish.
Our final design took a ridiculous time to arrive at and I have to accept that absolute perfection isn’t possible so we’ve drawn a line under it and here it is……at last.
