Ethos…
I have a small business but mighty big plans – being small these may take a little time but you may be interested in the goals that I have and the way that Pringle and Fairweather are heading in the future:-
- Palm Free – I try and avoid using Palm oil in my products generally but you will find some Palm Oil in some of my Soaps. I have pledged to reformulate all of my Soap recipes to use alternatives in a bid to make my business completely Palm-Free within a year (Summer of 2019).
- Vegan Friendly – There are no animal products in any my recipes and many products are Vegan Friendly but I use Beeswax in quite a few of my formulations – it’s a lovely way of thickening Creams and Balms naturally and offers a protective layer to your skin to shield it from all that is thrown at it. I am currently experimenting with natural plant waxes so that my products can all be Vegan Friendly – again within a year (Summer 2019).
- Packaging – I use glass jars and aluminium lids and containers for just about all of my products in a bid to avoid plastics – I know many plastics are recyclable but I feel that their pedigree is not as good as glass and Aluminium, so it may need careful packing and cost more to post but there is always a price to pay for doing the right thing for our environment. I still have a few small plastic items in stock such as dripper caps on the oils and if I can find suitable alternatives I will.
- Organic – This is the big one for me – I use some organic raw materials where I can source them at a reasonable cost but I am far from being 100% organic so this is a longer term mission for me. To do this overnight would literally double the cost of my product to you which I don’t think any of us are ready for just yet. Bear with me and as my business grows I hope to be able to offer part of my range as organic – it’s something to work towards – I’ll keep you posted.
